11.08.2012 - The official launch of the Dalston Coathanger concept stall at Ridley Road Market. Very much a learning curve today as the running of a market is new to the whole team. The preparation was complete with the last minute purchases including the flag pole and the black table covering, small but significant accessories to help us stand out in a very vibrant and colourful market. The minimalistic approach that has been incorporated throughout our branding and designs was again used to display our garments. The aim of this was to ensure the eye-catching designs were not drowned but accentuated, allowing us to engage with customers in conversation about the thought behind the designs themselves. The market, with its multi-cultural residents, was very welcoming from the first moment we wheeled the frame to our pitch, with our new neighbours offering tips and helping with the make-shift tarpauline roof. We very much exceeded expectations with regards to the footfall at the stall, the display and designs generated interest and curiosity, this was enhanced by the flyering around Dalston. A great first day at our new home….
